Summer Book Event ~ Contemporary Romance from @Chicki663 and @LaceyWolfe #giveaway

Summer Book Event:
Till You Come Back to Me & Keys To Her Heart

Featuring Contemporary Romance

Till You Come Back To Me by Chicki Brown

Driven to make a difference in the lives of the injured and deformed, Atlanta plastic surgeon, Charles Stafford gives up his successful practice to work with a medical organization in Nigeria. Awaiting him at the small village hospital is the beautiful and compassionate nurse, Adanna Okoro, who is everything he has ever wanted in a woman.

Adanna has returned to her homeland after graduation from a London nursing school. Her two desires in life are to help the sick in her nation and to marry a smart, motivated man. Charles enters her life like an answer from heaven, but cultural differences separate them. Adanna must choose between tradition and the man she has come to love.

The hospital staff and their guests settled under a white canopy covering two tables laden with bowls and platters. Nurse Okoro introduced their servers, three women from the village dressed in colorful traditional clothing and head wraps. Dr. Ijalana asked the women to serve the assistants first and instructed them to take turns checking on the patients. Charles bowed his head and silently offered a prayer over the food. Even though it smelled wonderful, most likely it contained ingredients he would never have eaten. The facilitator at the briefing mentioned the necessity of being careful not to insult the locals in any way, and one of those ways was by refusing food they had prepared. When he raised his head and opened his eyes, Nurse Okoro was studying him with a hint of a smile.

The new combined staff got to know each other while they ate. Charles took a few minutes talking with the two local doctors and the other nurse before he settled in the seat next to Nurse Okoro.

He nodded toward his plate. “Can you tell me what all of this is?"

"We asked the three best cooks in the village to prepare your first meal, and requested they fixed only chicken and vegetable dishes." He listened intently while she described the assortment of rice dishes, fruits, and vegetables in detail.

"Thank you. Everything is delicious. You have a British accent. You weren’t born here in Nigeria?”

She smiled and her cheeks rose like apples on her high cheekbones. “I was born here, but my family moved to London when I was twelve, and we lived there until I graduated from nursing school.”

“Why did your family decide to return?”

“They didn’t. My parents still live in London, but my brother and I always wanted to come back.”

“That’s interesting. I’ve recently moved away from my family too. Have you ever visited the United States?”

“No, but it’s on my bucket list.” She laughed and her obsidian eyes danced. “Is this your first visit to our continent, Dr. Stafford?”

“Please, call me Charles. Yes, it is, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of Nigeria.”

“We have our problems, but Nigeria also has its own unique beauty both in the villages and in the cities. Are you staying in Lagos?”

As she spoke, Charles admired the slant of her eyes and the tempting pout of her full lips. “Yes, the organization put us up in apartments in Surelere.”

"Really? That's not far from where I live. Are you satisfied with your accommodations?"

"So far. We only had time to unpack before the car arrived to bring us here."

Charles tore his gaze from her face when Dr. Pategi said, “Doctor Stafford, you will find our nurses to be invaluable to you,” he said with a wide smile. “Because our funding and staffing are limited, Nurse Okoro and Nurse Bankole have often had to handle patient care and perform procedures normally dealt with by physicians. Likewise, our nursing assistants have stepped in to take care of traditional nursing duties. We all pitch in whenever and wherever necessary.”

The way Dr. Pategi suddenly interrupted him, Charles wondered if he’d been ogling her. He gathered his senses and concentrated on her words rather than her face.

Keys To Her Heart by Lacey Wolfe

Love happens when you least expect it.

Officer Cody Duncan gave up on love years ago. Or so he thought. He was content with his quiet solitary life, until a clumsy waitress spilled hot coffee on his pants and turned his world upside down. Suddenly, there’s a new heat in his life, filled with cravings for things he once pushed aside.

Lily Jenkins’ busy life as a single mom and primary caretaker for her elderly mother leaves little time for herself. Struggling to adjust to a new life in a small town, her focus is too easily derailed by the gorgeous man she accidentally spilled hot coffee on. Knowing she has too much already going on, Lily vows to keep Cody at a distance, even though she craves him in ways she never thought possible.

Their attempts at simple friendship continually fail as they soon discover an untamable fire between them whenever they are alone together.

Seeing a life he never imagined for himself, will Cody have the patience to wait for the woman of his dreams? Will Lily finally let go and give Cody the Keys to Her Heart?

As they walked back up the main road in town, Cody couldn’t shake the feeling Lily was holding back on him. From the outside, she seemed to have her life together. She was strong and confident, but something told him there was a story she wasn’t sharing. He wouldn’t push. If, and when, she was ready, he’d listen. He didn’t plan on going anywhere.

God, was he already thinking about the long haul with her? He was in trouble, and he hadn’t even kissed her yet. He’d definitely thought about it, though.

“You’ve been such a gentleman showing me around.” She tugged at the hem of her dress. Her hot, sexy, want-to-rip-it-off-her dress.

“Who better than me?” he flirted.

“I can’t think of anyone.” She stared at him. Her long red curls begged him to touch them. Were they as soft as they looked?

“We should do this again.” His heart raced as he waited for her response.

“Yes.” She stepped back a little, increasing the space between them. “My evening schedule is kind of hectic. So daytime is best for me.”

“I understand. You have your son to care for.”

Her gaze darted away and she sucked in her bottom lip. “Yeah. Speaking of which, he’ll be home before long, and I should be there to get him off the bus.”

He hated that their time together was ending. “Okay. Let me walk you to your car.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I want to.”

She gave him the cute little grin he found himself adoring already. Of course, she’d parked near Luigi’s, which had them to her car too quickly.

Lily leaned against the side and he could practically see the wheels turning in her head. Was she debating the kiss as much as he was? Oh yeah, he wanted to explore those sweet lips of hers, but not yet. Not until he could spend a good few minutes with her.

Summer Book Event ~ Contemporary Romance from @LenaHartWrites & @Tamaria_Soana #giveaway

Summer Book Event:
Queen of His Heart & Southern Embrace

Contemporary Romance stories

Queen of His Heart by Lena Hart

Judith Bell is comfortable with her quiet, predictable life. After a failed relationship left her emotionally—and physically— scarred, she tries her hardest to ignore Carlos Moreno’s advances. But the sexy, dark-eyed security chief is proving very hard to ignore. When fear and blackmail drives her to compromise her new position at Royal Courts, Judith’s serene life is once again disrupted.

Carlos is captivated by his boss’ assistant. Beyond her beauty is a sweet, gentle woman needing desperately to be loved. But when an internal investigation points to her, he realizes Judith may not be the innocent she appears. Left wondering if he’s been duped by a pretty face and bewitching smile, Carlos finds himself torn between his obligations to Royal Courts or protecting the woman who’s already stolen his heart.

On the run from her past and forced into hiding, Judith is faced with two choices—either let fear define her future or allow love to heal her wounded heart.

“Are you okay, muñeca?” he asked slowly.

She stared up at him, overwhelmed with despair. No, not really. The worry in his eyes was enough to have the lump return, but this time from profound guilt instead of panic.

Could she trust him?

It wasn’t worth the risk so instead she took a deep breath and simply nodded as she tried to formulate her thoughts and put them into coherent words this time.

“Yes, I’m fine,” Judith assured him with a wide smile. “I just…I got so busy today, I missed lunch and now can’t seem to think straight.”

At least that wasn’t a complete lie. There was no food in her stomach and no rational thought left in her brain—not enough anyway to have kept her fear at bay and stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life.

“You need to take better care of yourself,” Carlos said, concern still clouding his eyes. “Don’t let Carrone work you to the ground.”

Despite herself, she was warmed by the gentle reprimand. He cared.

“I’m fine, really. I just need to grab a few things, then I’m heading out soon.” She turned the door knob of the supply room as she spoke and to her dismay, found it locked. Glancing over at Carlos, she let out a weak laugh.

“I guess they’ve started locking these after hours,” she muttered, though it was something she wouldn’t know. In her three months at Royal Courts, she’d only been there once or twice.

With a grin, Carlos pulled out a set of keys. “The perks of working in security,” he said, quickly unlocking the door.

He pushed it open and she walked past him inside. Following her into the small, dim room, Carlos let the door closed behind him with a finality that was jarring.

Judith ended her quick search for the light switch and resigned herself to using the downlighting to navigate through the room. Rows of tall shelves lined the small space and she walked through the nearest one, looking for something suitable to carry out of there. But being isolated in the dark room with Carlos Moreno wasn’t helping matters.

“What are you looking for?” he asked, coming up behind her. “Maybe I can help.”

Her eyes fell on a stack of notepads and she reached for them. “Uh, I think I found it,” she said quickly.

Unfortunately, she missed the box of envelopes that were stacked right above them. When she jerked on the pack, they all threatened to come down on her head.

“Careful,” Carlos said sharply, reaching over her to catch the items.

He shoved the bundle of papers back into position and the action brought him firmly against her. His warm, well-muscled chest pressed solidly along her back. She wanted nothing more than to lean against him, to have him wrap his strong arms around her and hold her close.

“Nothing got you, did it?”

She shook her head, her face heating, grateful he’d saved her from that embarrassing mishap—and that he wasn’t a mind reader.

“No, I’m fine.”

She turned around, but he didn’t step back. They both stood there looking at each other. There was no way she could hide her attraction to him now. Not when he looked at her like that.

Stark desire blazed in his deep, penetrating eyes, but there was also a tenderness and affection in them that made something in her belly flutter.

He reached out and brushed his thumb slowly across her cheek. “What’s a good girl like you doing in a dirty mind like mine?”

Judith glanced away from his intense gaze. He’d obviously intended for it to be a joke, but with what she’d just done not too long ago, coupled with the slow throbbing between her legs just from his light touch, he was far from the truth.

She was no good girl.

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon. Van grabbed her purse and headed out to the mall. Nikki's shower was the following weekend, and Nikki had been on her to get a new dress for days, threatening to drag her shopping kicking and screaming if she didn't go herself.

Once at the mall, Van picked up some last minute gifts for Nikki. After trying on a few dresses, she found a knee-length, strapless coral dress. She purchased it and was off in search of a pair of shoes. When she found the perfect pair of coral and silver heels, Van concluded the trip to the mall a complete success.

Her cellphone rang as she was leaving the shoe store. She dug around in her bag to find it. With her head down and her steps brisk, she ran right into someone.

"I'm so sorry. I'm such a klutz," she said as she looked up into the brown eyes of her first love. She gasped and took a step back, surveying him. His light brown hair was a little shorter and he was built like a man now, not the boy she used to know. She stood frozen in place, staring at him. This can't be happening. A tidal wave of emotions rushed through her at once. Anger, resentment, hatred, but mainly pain…so much pain.

"Van."

"Lance? Oh my God!" She took another step back. "How?"

"I-I talked to Nikki. She told me you would be here. I needed to see you. When I heard what happened…" He paused. "I knew I couldn't stay away any longer. I'm so sorry."

The more he talked, the more Van's anger flared. Who does he think he is? He left me! Turned his back on me when he cut all ties!

"What exactly are you sorry for, Lance? That my husband died or that you broke my heart all those years ago?" The words she spoke were full of acid. "You have a lot of nerve just showing up here like nothing ever happened. Go away." She turned to leave.

"Please, Van, just talk to me. Give me a chance to explain," he begged as he reached for her hand.

"Don't you dare touch me," she said through gritted teeth, yanking her hand away. "What do you want from me?" She stared at him while plotting all the ways she was going to torture Nikki for her betrayal.

She seethed as he looked around. "Calm down, Van. People are starting to stare. Please, can we go somewhere more private and talk? There is so much I need to tell you."

"What could you possibly have to say to me that would make up for what you did? I mean, I know you had to move, but you cut all ties with me. Like the three years we spent together meant nothing to you, like I meant nothing to you. Damn you, Lance, you didn't even try to make it work."

"Please, Savannah. Give me a chance to explain."

"Give me one reason why I should."

"Because I still love you. I. Never. Stopped. I cut all ties with you because I had to. Long distance relationships never work out. I was afraid you would wake up one day and resent me. Being apart from you was killing me. I thought this way we would both be able to move on. But I was wrong, I never was able to move on. I let the love I have for you consume me. I wanted to come back sooner, but then I heard you'd gotten married. When I found out what had happened, I wanted to rush here and be by your side, but I figured you would need some time."

His words shocked and confused her. After she took a few moments to process everything, she shook her head. "I can't do this." She turned and walked away, then stopped. "Go back to wherever it was you came from and leave me alone."

"I won't give up on you. I won't stop trying, and I most definitely won't ever leave you again."

"Just go away, Lance. You're good at that," she snarled before she walked away. She didn't dare turn around because looking at him as he begged her to give him a chance to explain would certainly weaken her. Van needed to focus on how she was going to kill her so-called best friend.

Summer Book Event ~ M/M Romance with @VanessaSims18 & @EllaJade1 #giveaway #SOR_Tours

Summer Book Event:

Conquered Mate &
Embracing the Unexpected

M/M Romance

Conquered Mate by Vanessa Sims

Nathan is the Alpha Heir in the Red Moon Pack.

Which means since Noah won't be having any kids, Nathan is next in line to be Alpha.

Sebastian is a Delta in the Red Moon Pack, in training to be Beta.

Sebastian is fine with were he is in the pack and hope Ethan and Isaiah never step down.

Ryan is a Hunter.

His parents were killed by a rouge shifter.

The Hunters have the Red Moon Pack on their radar and is ready to take them down.

Can three very different men come together and save the Red Moon Pack from the Hunters or will Ryan be apart of their downfall?

Sebastian and his wolf were ecstatic; they were sitting at the table with their mate eating breakfast. Something so mundane, but perfect in every way. Once they were done eating, Sebastian helped Nathan clean the kitchen and afterwards they went into the living room to watch some television and snuggle. The television watched them more than; they watched it because Sebastian couldn’t get enough of his mate's lips.

“I think your phone is ringing.” Sebastian said as he pulled his lips away from Nathan’s. Looking into Nathan’s eyes, Sebastian saw they were glazed with passion.

“Right give me a second.” Nathan panted out and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket to answer it.

“What’s up Noah?” Sebastian heard the hitch in Nathan’s voice as he nipped at his neck, then started drawing tiny circles with his tongue. Being so close, he heard what their Alpha said.

“I need you to go on patrol again.” Noah said.

Nathan lifted from the couch pushing Sebastian off him.

“What’s the matter?”

“Jake was supposed to do it, but we can’t find him.” Sebastian could hear Noah’s frustration clearly through the phone line.

“Do you think the Hunters took him?”

“Fuck if I know. We need to catch these bastards before some seriously gets hurt.”

“That we do, give me thirty minutes and I’ll start the patrol.” Nathan said as he stood and went to the bedroom, Sebastian following behind him.

“Thanks brother.”

“Anytime, you know that.”

Nathan hung up the phone and started to get dressed; Sebastian pulled on his clothes from the night before, and once he finished, he pulled Nathan into his arms.

“We will get them, come with to my house so that I can change, and I’ll go with you.” Sebastian said as he walked Nathan to the door.

“Yeah, that would be great. If those fuckers did take Jake, they will wish they never had.”

Sebastian loved the fierce tone in Nathan’s voice. He would protect his pack mates no matter what. Sebastian also knew never to get on his mate's bad side. He looked like he would do some serious harm to him.

They made the short walk to Sebastian’s house, and Nathan followed him to the bedroom while he got dressed. Once he was ready to go, they went to the border of the pack lands and started their patrol.

Embracing the Unexpected by Ella Jade

Sometimes love can be found where we least expect it.

When Parker Phillips, a successful attorney, has a confrontation with his friend Ava's abusive boyfriend, he finds himself facing assault and battery charges, and he's ordered to attend an anger management course. Parker, who has never been attracted to a man, is drawn to Dr. Jace Cross, the psychiatrist leading the class. But how can that be, since Parker is straight?

Jace accepted the fact that he was gay many years ago, and he's comfortable in his sexuality, but he's been single for some time now. He throws himself into his work to fill the lonely void.

Although sparks fly whenever they're together, Parker's reluctant to embrace these feelings he has for another man.

Can the sexy doctor help him discover who he truly is?

Content Warning: Strong language, graphic sex

How far was Jace willing to take this? He was comfortable in his sexuality and had known he was gay ever since high school. He had no problem exploring this relationship, but he wasn't sure what Parker wanted. Up until now, Jace only had relationships with men who were open with their sexuality. He'd never had to ask a potential partner if they were into men.

Jace sat on the edge of the chaise lounge, but never expected Parker to sit in the small space with him. He could have sat anywhere else in the room. That had to mean something, didn't it? They were close enough that their thighs were pressed against one another and their shoulders were touching. Parker had his hand in his lap, so Jace reached out and placed his hand on top of it. Parker looked down at their joined hands, and Jace could feel how tense his body was.

"Jace," he said. "This is all new to me."

"I know." He tilted Parker's chin up with his free hand. "But you can feel it."

He nodded and Jace felt a sense of relief. If Parker realized there could be something between them then that was half the battle.

"I've been trying to fight it all week," Parker said. "But when you're close to me, I forget why I'm trying to fight it."

"Maybe you should just go with what you're feeling." Jace wanted to encourage him, but he didn't want to push.

"I had a really good time tonight," Parker admitted. "And I want to see you again."

Jace leaned closer, never taking his eyes away from Parker's or removing his hand from his. He could feel Parker's warm breath on his mouth and his eyes looked so inviting.

"You're going to have to go slower than you're used to," Parker said.

"Slow can be good." Jace smiled as he brushed his lips against Parker's jaw, moving toward his mouth. Parker looked down and Jace sensed his embarrassment, but he couldn't help himself, so he slowly moved his lips against his. They were so soft and warm, and he wanted to explore more of him, but he didn't want to rush him.

He couldn't take it anymore. He had to deepen the kiss. He needed more, so he moved his hand over Parker's shoulder and up to the back of his head, pushing him closer to him as he slipped his tongue inside his mouth. Parker briefly reciprocated and Jace thought he'd blow his load from the taste of him, but then Parker pressed his hand against his chest and tried to push him away.

"I don't—" Parker was breathless, and although the man looked conflicted he didn't move his lips away from Jace's.

"You don't what?" Jace whispered against his mouth as he pressed his forehead to his and played with the hair at the nape of his neck.

"It's just different," Parker admitted. "But I like it." He shifted in his seat, and Jace knew exactly what he was feeling. He was sure Parker was just as hard as he was.

"Parker," he mumbled against his lips. "I'm willing to wait for you, so why don't you relax and let's see where this goes?"

D-Strings Set & Naughty Little Bedtime Stories

D-Strings Set by Lisa Gillis
Rising Sun, Half Moon, Rock Stars

They are friends in public, lovers in private. In an age of sex, drugs, rock and roll, they want it all. But 'all' has a different definition to everyone. What happens when sexy drummer Matt Loren wants bandmate Jules Breaux as more than a bedroom plaything? Is her love more than a four letter word?

With a roll, her feet were on the floor and flying to the door. He hardly ever arrived in the middle of the night like this without a phone call to her room first. She could feel him on the other side, but she forced a few deep breaths into her lungs and counted to ten. Squeezing her eyes tightly together, she reopened them only halfway as she unlatched and pulled at the door.

“Hey.” Modulating her voice, she made sure it sounded casual and even sleepy.

“Hey. Had a bad dream. S’okay if I sleep in your bed tonight?” So sexy, he stood, taking the time to look her over before entering the room. No sooner had she shut the door, than he turned, pinning her against it for a deep kiss. “Tried to call you a couple of times…” Reaching over her, he locked the door and then began to kiss her again.

“Went to the party.” She managed to speak around his kiss.

“Mmh hmm. How was it?” Both hands closed around both of hers. His tongue glided along her lips as he spoke.

“Okay, I guess. Where were you? You stay around here?” His breath, his taste was more than slightly alcoholic. Unusual for him. She punctuated each sentence with a return kiss.

“Went with Keith to a club.” Bringing her hands up, he trapped them between his and the door.

“Keith? Really?” She could barely imagine Matt drinking beers with Keith, but he had definitely had more than a few. And not just beers. She could taste and smell the hard liquor. Not enough to reek, but enough to ingest with each breath he took—probably enough that, for once, he didn’t taste it on her. Getting out on the town was not something they had done much on the road, and she sulked against his lips. “Well I would have gone. You didn’t have to take Keith.”

“You wouldn’t have gone.” Blissfully, his body sandwiched hers snugly between his and the door. Their handclasp was palm to palm, hers still between his and the door. “Wasn’t that kind of club, cari.”

It took her several extra seconds to realize he was speaking of a strip club. If his alcohol count tonight surprised her, this new revelation surprised her more. Somehow, she disentangled her tongue enough to tease, “Really? You don’t know that.”

“Really? Thought I did.” The smug kiss that followed was extra firm, and she smiled into it, feeling his return smile.

Restless to touch him, she strained her hands against his for the umpteenth time. He let them go this time, but in two swift movements, he exposed her completely to his gaze—the admiring gaze she now knew she craved.

“So pretty. Prettier than anyone, anywhere.” Her back, now bare, made contact with the door as he moved in close, sliding a hand down between them as he did so.

Her gasp, like so many times before, was smothered by his kiss. A kiss combined with a touch that was quickly making her mindless. Like his hand, his words caressed her over and over, and in a random moment of clarity, she demanded in mock outrage, “Did you just compare me to strippers?”

“Yep. The hottest, classiest strippers. It’s a legendary place. His tone was light, bantering, and then he finished solemnly, wisely, “But there is no comparison.”

Excerpt from Strawberries and Whipped Cream

We ate dinner, drank some wine, and talked about our week. Maybe tonight I would finally pop the question. After cleaning up, I refilled our glasses.

"Did you get something for dessert?" Emma asked.

I smiled. "Yes, I did. Why don't you go into the living room and make yourself comfortable while I get it ready."

"Okay. Are you sure you don't need help?"

"I'm sure."

After she left the kitchen, I gathered the bowl of strawberries and can whipped cream from the fridge. I walked in the room to find her on the couch, sipping her wine. I sat down next to her and placed the food on the coffee table.

"I love strawberries, but why the can of whipped cream?" she asked with a twinkle in her eyes.

"Close your eyes. No peeking," I whispered in her ear.

I took a strawberry and traced her bottom lip with it. She opened her mouth slightly, and I allowed her to take a small bite. A low moan escaped her lips, and my dick twitched in response. I began to feed her another piece of fruit. My cock was getting harder by the minute as I watched her lips wrap around the strawberries.

"I want to feed you one," she said as she opened her eyes.

"I have a better idea. Close your eyes," I said in a deep voice.

Emma sighed and closed her eyes. I picked up a strawberry and touched her bottom lip with it, and she opened her mouth to take it in. I leaned in and bit the other end, letting our lips meet and eliciting a faint squeal from her.

"Would you like some whipped cream?" I asked her as I grabbed the can and shook it.

"Yes," she whimpered.

I squirted some whipped cream on her bottom lip. She seductively licked them while looking at me lustfully. I groaned, shifted to adjust myself, and placed my lips on hers. She wrapped her arms around me and the kiss deepened. Our tongues rubbed against each other. She tasted like whipped cream. Pulling away, I placed kisses down her neck and made my way to her chest. I lifted her shirt over her head. She was wearing a pink lace bra.

"Beautiful," I whispered as I reached around her and unhooked her bra. I slid the straps off her arms, placing more kisses on her neck. "Lay back," I told her as I took my shirt off.

I unbuttoned her jeans and slowly unzipped them. She lifted herself up as I slid them down her amazing legs and threw them on the floor. She was a sight to behold in just a pair of pink boy shorts.

"Do you trust me?" I asked.

Savannah's Journey by Kathleen Ann Gallagher

Savannah Mason is a career minded journalist who spends long hours at work, hoping to take the spot as anchor. She continues to fight for independence and refuses to allow her demanding father to take control of her life, despite his wish for her to take over his surgical practice. On her darkest day twelve years ago, she agreed to give her baby up for adoption. On her daughter’s birthday a chance encounter gives Savannah an opportunity to explore a corner of her heart she thought was lost forever.

Rob Sinclair a renowned surgeon and NY Times best-selling author has a new release and needs a promo spot on the television show, The News Stop. When he meets the assertive newswoman, desire and passion awaken his broken spirit. The last thing Savannah wants is a relationship, especially one with a divorced, doctor who happens to have two small children.

When Savannah gets to conduct the interview over the senior reporter, a door opens to her future. However, first she must face the unsettled issues in her life, before she is free to accept love. A man, who seems all wrong for her, slowly weaves himself into her heart. Can he accept her when he learns about her past?

Rob’s commitment to climb the ladder of success, keeps him on the road for days at a time. How will he ever be able to trust another woman?

Savannah and Rob’s strong attraction is undeniable as they journey to a place where honesty and the power of forgiveness, can help heal the scars of the past. Will it be enough to allow them another chance for love?

She got up and slowly moved toward him. Her chest tightened with each step. As she approached him and admired his broad shoulders, it dawned on her he could be a candidate for People’s sexiest man alive. Control yourself.

“I’m happy here,” she admitted. “I love it when the morning light shines on the water and it mimics fine pieces of crystal.”

Rob slowly approached her. His gaze fixed on her, sent shivers from head to toe. Afraid of what might happen next, she turned away. They were too close for comfort. An electric energy surged between them.

Before she could stop him, Rob reached for her and pulled her up against his chest. “You’re an amazing woman, Savannah.” His lips met hers and he cradled her head in his hands as if she was a precious jewel. It all happened so quickly, she didn’t have time to react. The warmth of his touch sent waves of heat down her stomach and in between her legs as the world stood still. When Rob’s hands moved slowly across her back, it took her to a level of arousal she never expected. She found herself spellbound by the feel of his rock hard body pressed up against her chest. All of the emotions she’d kept inside emerged when Rob held her tight.

When they finally parted, she stood frozen in shock with her heart pounding and her ears ringing.

His expression made him look as if he broke the law with his eyes practically popping out of his head. He quickly took a step back. “I don’t know what to say. I’m so sorry for my rude behavior.”

“You weren’t rude. I didn’t stop you.”

Just Another Maniac Monday by Jennie Marts

Is finding your long-lost love worth losing your life?

Edna Allen’s Monday goes from mundane to murderous when she opens the front door to find the love of her life standing there. A man she thought had died years ago… after being accused of murder.

John Collins is back, bringing with him a charming smile, a dog named Havoc, a second chance at love…and a threat of death. Danger surrounds this former bad-boy, and even after a lifetime apart, he still ignites a spark in Edna. A spark she thought she’d buried decades earlier.

As Edna relives their summer romance, where more than the weather was hot and steamy, she falls in love all over again and evokes memories filled with drama, passion, action, and murder. Now these soul-mates must face the truth about what happened in the past and find the killer hunting them in the present. And Edna, with her sarcastic wit, a pocket stun-gun, and a few hare-brained schemes, is ready to fight for the man who still makes her pulse race.

But does she dare risk her heart again to now protect the man whom she couldn’t save back then?

Edna Allen grumbled as she pushed her ancient bones off the sofa and crossed the living room, her slippered feet slapping the floor with each step. Mondays were her lazy days, and even though it was close to noon, she was still in her pajamas and quite engrossed in her morning shows. Whoever was ringing her doorbell was interrupting the spinning of the prize wheel.

Her mind was busy calculating the difference between the current value of a vacuum cleaner versus a washing machine when she absently opened the front door. The remote control slipped from her hand and hit the floor as she took in the sight on her front stoop. Holding a red rose in one hand and a small dog tucked into the crook of his arm stood a ghost.

He looked like a man, but the man he resembled was dead. He had died a long time ago. Or maybe she was dead. Maybe she had stroked out between the bonus round and the Showcase Showdown and this was heaven. Maybe heaven was really just watching game shows in your pajamas all day and having the love of your life appear suddenly on your doorstep.

Except she didn’t feel dead. As a matter of fact, she could feel her heart beating strong and quick, threatening to pound free of her sunken chest.

And he sure didn’t look dead. In fact, he looked pretty good in a gray three-piece suit, his skin tanned and his once blond hair now pure white. Beyond his shoulder, Edna could see old Mr. Ferguson mowing his lawn and she knew there was no way that old coot would ever make it into heaven, so either she was still alive or there was a worse alternative.

If she was still alive, then Johnny Collins was really standing on her doorstep.

A hundred memories flooded her mind. She had dreamt of this moment a thousand times. She’d planned a hundred scenarios of what she would do. What she would say. But none of those clever thoughts came to mind as she opened her mouth to speak. “What in the Sam-Hill are you doing here?”

The ghost chuckled softly, the familiar twinkle in his crystal blue eyes. “You haven’t changed a bit, Eddy.”

Edna’s knees threatened to buckle at the familiar nickname that only one man had ever called her. “Of course I’ve changed. And more than a bit. The last time you saw me, I was a young girl. Now I’m an old woman. It’s been almost sixty years since you’ve seen me.”

“It feels like yesterday,” he said. “You look as beautiful as the first day I met you.”

Heat warmed her cheeks as she took in the sight of the first man she had ever loved. He stood around six feet tall and was well dressed. A satin square of royal-blue handkerchief poked from his breast pocket and the color matched his eyes. The eyes that had looked into hers and pledged to love her until the day he died. And she thought he had.

She blinked, tears filling her eyes. “Johnny? Is it really you?”

He nodded, a slow bob of his head, never taking his eyes off of hers. “Yes, it’s me. I’m really here.”

Choking back the emotion welling in her throat, she shook her head in wonder. “I thought you were dead.”

“I know. That’s what I wanted everyone to think.” His expression turned deeply sad for just a moment, then the charming smile returned as he tipped his head. “Are you going to invite me in?”

Edna wiped at the stray tear on her face and narrowed her eyes. “I haven’t decided yet.”
